Negative Thoughts Undermine Your Confidence
YES, YOU CAN!
When you think you can’t do something or convince yourself that you’re not going to succeed, you’re hurting your self-confidence and automatically creating a sense of paralysis.
Without self-confidence, you don’t have the drive, energy, and desire to make progress. Your thoughts run along the lines of “Why bother, it’s not going to work anyway.”
As a result, you tackle things slowly, or totally procrastinate and never get IT done. Your progress comes to a standstill because of your negative thinking.
DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN!
Some positive thinking and self-confidence will get you back on track and keep you striving forward toward success! Below are a few ideas on how to uplevel your self-confidence:
- Find 5 things that you are good at and work on them every day for 21 days. This will help to begin programming your mind into embracing positive thoughts surrounding things that you do.
- Be kind to yourself. What does that mean? Ahhh how about starting with positive affirmations. A few of my favorites are by Louise Hay is: All That I Seek Is Already Within Me. Another one by her is, My Self-Esteem Is High Because I Honor Who I Am. And for those who believe in the Bible...You can always find some great affirmations there.
Also as mentioned in the Power of Positive Thinking blog posts, I'm a huge fan of the book, The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vicent Peale. While it was written decades ago, the principles still remain the same. So check it out if you get a chance.
